Daniel coordinates the international development of Bioga, The Life Sciences Technological and Business Cluster of Galicia (Spain), and he is involved in the management of R&D and digitalisation projects for the biotechnology sector. 

Daniel carried out studies in Chemistry, Food Science and Biotechnology at the Universities of Vigo and Barcelona (Spain) and performed a PhD at the University of Freiburg (Germany) at Prof. Peter Beyer's group (co-creator of Golden Rice) with specialisation in Plant Biotechnology. He conducted research on increasing the provitamin A content in plants with implications for human health. Afterwards, he joined the scientific-humanitarian program HarvestPlus (United States) as Coordinator of Nutrition and Food Science for Latin America and the Caribbean, with base at The International Center for Tropical Agriculture, an International Organisation located in Colombia, leading projects about biofortified crops in iron, zinc and provitamin A. He is currently engaged in an MBA in Biotechnology Business Administration.
