Dariusz is a fungal molecular biologist with an MSc in Biotechnology and a PhD in Molecular Biology from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Poland. His postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin focused on the cellular biology of filamentous fungi, followed by work on yeast proteomics at the University of Manchester. He joined the University of Edinburgh in 2012, contributing to ribosomal RNA studies, chitosan applications, DNA assembly systems, and synthetic yeast genomes. Most recently, he co-initiated a Pichia pastoris bioengineering project to develop synthetic chromosomes for glycoprotein production.
