Jessica Fox
Fox is a graduate of Prague’s National Film School, with degrees in Folklore & Mythology and Astronomy. She began her career assisting directors on Broadway and Public Television before touring with the Dresden Dolls and creating the documentary The First Last Tour. She later founded Mythic Image, producing award-winning shorts and commercials, and her writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Independent, HelloGiggles, and for the British Science Association. Her memoir Three Things You Need to Know About Rockets was a Waterstones Book of the Month.
A specialist in translating complex ideas into compelling narrative, Fox works closely with scientists and technologists, co-authoring the University of Edinburgh’s Once Upon a Bio Future, serving as resident storyteller at NASA and consulting internationally with technology companies. She is also the creator of The Open Book, Airbnb’s first bookshop holiday experience and most-booked destination. Fox currently runs Innerwell Media, co-hosts the podcast MoonSnacks with NASA’s former Chief Knowledge Officer Ed Hoffman, and co-founded the creative agency Light Dark Light. Her latest feature film, Stella—a 1930s Scottish retelling of Cinderella—has won Best Director (Montreal), Best Picture (Toronto Female Eye), and Best Drama (Tel Aviv), and is currently airing on STV.
