Marta Tous Mohedano

Marta Tous Mohedano holds a PhD in metabolic engineering and fermentation and is the Founder and CEO of the London-based spin-out VerdiChem. VerdiChem focuses on the sustainable production of high-value aromatic chemicals, aiming to replace conventional petrochemical routes with cleaner, bio-based alternatives that enable a more circular and sustainable chemicals industry.

Marta is passionate about harnessing the power of engineering biology to bring commercially viable, sustainable solutions to market. Prior to founding VerdiChem, she served as Head of Bioengineering at Biome Technologies, where she led the company’s biotechnology research activities and developed its technical innovation strategy.
