Paul Mines

Paul has been CEO of Biome Technologies and Biome Bioplastics since 2007. A leader in bio-based and compostable plastics, the business strategy now includes the commercialisation of Industrial Biotechnology for the production of bio-based monomers for use in bioplastics sector.

An engineer with an MBA from London Business School, Paul spent his earlier career in the chemical industry and has 30 years experience in the plastics and packaging industry, managing in high growth markets, turnarounds, spin-outs and M&A.

Having held a number of private sector non-executive roles, Paul chairs the Industrial Biotechnology Leadership Forum (IBLF), and the Biobased and Biodegradable Industry Association (BBIA) and sits on the DSIT organised Engineering Biology Advisory Panel (EBAP).
