Connecting and supercharging Scotland’s Life Sciences Cluster

Developing Cluster Development Organisation to support sustainable and inclusive growth of the life sciences sector in Scotland

Scottish Enterprise is piloting activity which supports the growth potential of industry clusters taking full advantage of Scotland's assets, both rural and urban, natural, digital and physical through the development of a new Scottish Cluster Scheme. CPI have been commissioned by Scottish Enterprise on behalf of the Scottish Government and enterprise agencies to inform the design of a cluster development function that meets the needs of Scotland's life sciences industry, with the aim of stimulating inclusive and sustainable growth of the sector in the coming years.

Facilitators from CPI/SE will highlight feedback gathered from industry interviews and propose suggested operating models for a Life Sciences Cluster Development Organisation – in this workshop, organisers are seeking input from industry personnel across life sciences in Scotland on the suggested operating models. This includes organisations working across agritech, animal health and aquaculture as well as those working across both engineering biology and industrial biotechnology.

Why attend?

This workshop will provide an opportunity for delegates across life sciences in Scotland to input into the design and operating model of a cluster development organisation, the aim of which is to grow existing and support new indigenous life sciences companies in Scotland, attract inward investment in life sciences to Scotland and create jobs and increase productivity.
